SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:
The Senior Commercial Conferences Marketing Manager will play an integral role leading the planning and execution of commercial conferences and product theaters. This individual will lead the execution of a broad range of operational initiatives associated with conference planning to ensure successful, compliant execution. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal and external partners drive timely decision making, and ensure timely and appropriate communication with all stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Secure, manage and execute logistics across the organization/functions including, but not limited to: registration, exhibit booth space, meeting space, sponsorship advertising opportunities, hotel room blocks, pre-event planning teams, etc.
- Drive decision making on appropriate congress sponsorship levels and product theater placements in collaboration with Sales Leadership, Key Customer Team (KCT ) and Key Customer Strategy.
- Lead planning meetings with cross-functional teams. Develop and manage planning timelines to ensure deliverables are met.
- Develop and execute congress communication plan for internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead preparation, submission and approval process for SOWs, POs and payments for conferences, product theaters and state societies.
- Ensure flawless planning of product theaters, including oversight of all on-site logistics, timely asset hand-off, and communication to key stakeholders.
- Develop all product theater ancillary materials, including invitations, signage and other materials, as appropriate.
- Lead the successful submission and review of product theater anciallary materials through the Exelixis internal review committee (RAMP).
- Coordinate the shipment of promotional marketing materials to congresses.
- Oversee and manage agency partners responsible for conference planning and execution and product theater planning.
- Facilitate the development of the annual Congress and Product theater plan in partnership with KCT and Key Customer Strategy, including the annual budget.
- Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Exelixis activities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Education/Experience:
- BS/BA degree in related discipline and 9 years of related experience; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience/The Ideal for Successful Entry into Job:
Strong organizational and time management skills
- Marketing experience within a corporate environment strongly preferred.
- Experience with congress planning, execution and required compliance reporting
- Experience managing event logistics
- Relevant experience with managing budgets
- Proven agency management to ensure efficient planning and timely execution of deliverables
Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to learn and ability to improve current processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various internal and external partners.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to travel to meetings/trainings/programs as necessary.
- ~30 % travel required.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this position is $131,000 – $186,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate’s geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors.
In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Employees are also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program, or if field sales staff, a sales-based incentive plan.
