As part of our Clinical Affairs team, you’ll hone your scientific curiosity and passion for evaluating data to increase access to pioneering technologies for patients in need. In close partnership with principal investigators, dedicated medical professionals, patient advocacy groups, and regulatory authorities, you will drive the evidence needed to optimize patient outcomes.

As an experienced medical device professional with strong scientific acumen and a commitment to putting patients first, you will lead the design and implementation of scientific communication activities.
How you’ll make an impact:

Develop complex scientific content (e.g. medical writing, editing, finalizing, manuscripts, abstracts, podium presentations, posters, publication review, scientific content review) and submit content to scientific congresses and medical journals, to support Edwards Lifesciences’ transcatheter heart valve scientific podium publication plan

Lead the content evaluation and ensure alignment with relevant strategy by reviewing complex deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g. regulatory, research and development, biostatistics, clinical safety, marketing and investigators) and provide recommendations and solution for content improvement

Conduct literature reviews to address study specific questions; provide synopsis of findings

Collaborate with team members to develop clinical data into context for the clinical community

Proactively identify, assess, and critically summarize relevant scientific and medical literature across therapeutic area.

Review, analyze, and edit presentations/publications and collaborate with cross-functional teams
-
Create scientific summaries and ensure dissemination of key findings among internal and external stakeholders in multiple formats.

Create presentation slide decks for internal and external dissemination.

Review and disseminate the session coverage of all major relevant medical/scientific conferences within assigned geographic regions/areas

Establish and manage a repository of scientific communications content (e.g., publications, presentations)

Provide transfer knowledge to other team members

What you’ll need (Required):

Master’s degree in a related field with 6 years of related experience working in clinical research and/or healthcare industry; OR
-
Doctorate degree (PhD, MD, PharmD) with 4 years of related experience working in clinical research and/or healthcare industry

Work schedule aligns with typic business hours in the Pacific Time Zone

Prior knowledge and understanding of compliance and relevant guidelines for scientific publications, including but not limited to ICMJE and GPP3

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills

Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel

Excellent written and verbal communication skills including customer negotiating and relationship management skills

Represents leadership on sections of projects within a specific area interfacing with project managers and medical affairs team

Extensive scientific acumen, for use in various circumstances, including in working with internal stakeholders and with physicians in identifying evidence gaps and opportunities

Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

Strength in gaining extensive knowledge of own area within the organization while contributing to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards

Extensive in the development of scientific/medical conference proceedings and manuscript publication in major scientific journals

Strong leadership skills with ability to influence and guide stakeholders; interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization

Proven successful project management skills, strict attention to detail, and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Proven expertise in both Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel and related systems

Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control

The base pay range for this position is $120,000 to $170,000 (highly experienced).
