Position Summary:
As a Researcher Technician, this entry-level position will play a pivotal role in supporting team operations within a dynamic research environment. Under the guidance of managers, team leads, or senior technicians, you will conduct routine tests/measures and assist in various research endeavors. Your responsibilities will include aiding investigators or senior researchers in conducting studies and procedures encompassing tasks such as data collection, solution preparation, and equipment setup and maintenance. Depending on the research focus, this position may involve research participant contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens.
This position will focus on research with Cystic Fibrosis. This position will process samples, conduct experiments in cell culture, electrophysiology, genetics studies, expression studies, and assist with clinical research.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Cell culture techniques (growing cells, feeding cells, passaging cells, plating cells on air-liquid interface filters etc)
- Sample processing (homogenization of tissue, fixation of tissues and cell systems, cytokine and antibody assays of interest, etc)
- PCR work and DNA/RNA extraction
- Cell culture infection models (Pseudomonas sp, Aspergillus sp, and other organisms of interest
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $15.00 – $20.00
Qualifications
High School or GED required. Previous research experience or coursework preferred.
