Summary
Dream Nashville is looking for bartenders who are excited, qualified, hard-working, individuals with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to superior guest service. Experience with Micros, high volume, and/or extensive cocktail training are all beneficial but not required. The lead Bartender is responsible leading the team to the highest standard and promoting a safe work environment.
- Knows all drink recipes, wines by the glass, food items and prices to effectively promote to guests.
- Performs duties in accordance with established company policies for drink size, recipe, and proper glassware.
- Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
- Ability to train new bartenders and work alongside them to develop skillset/knowledge.
- Responsible for assisting during the creative process of seasonal cocktail menus including seasonal syrup recipes as well as training bar team on all seasonal cocktails
- To ensure that all perishable items used behind the bar are labeled/dated and responsible for rotating and throwing away to maintain quality control
- Assisting in creation of bar order guide and building par levels
- Assisting management in monthly inventory counts
- Responsible for batching program and training others to batch proper and consistent recipes
- Assists management on weekly beverage order in the absence of the beverage manager
- Work alongside receiving agent to ensure all product is organized properly
- Ensures that all bartenders complete and pass all tests as part of their new hire training before moving them out of training
- Assists management with updating bar training manuals as necessary
- Handle cash transactions in accordance with the property’s cash handling policy
- Maintains current knowledge of hotel culture, amenities, and services, events in the area, points of interest, and services in the area
- Performs complete bar setup, including ice, garnish, glassware, etc.
- Works as part of a team
- Portrays a positive friendly and professional attitude at all times, always smiles and greets guests warmly and genuinely
- Provides prompt, professional, friendly, and personalized service to our guests
- Provides help and support to all fellow colleagues
- Communicates to FOH and BOH support staff including managers and chefs
- Learns from and teaches fellow colleagues (learn by listening, lead by example)
- Performs opening side work and set up station
- Attends and participates in any training sessions, department meetings
- Provides professional and exceptional food and beverage service
- Records and places proper food and beverage orders in POS
- Delivers food and beverages to guests
- Listens to guests and anticipates their needs
- Responds to guests’ questions and their needs
- Proper serving of wine and alcohol (with awareness)
- Presentations and reconciliation of checks
- Collects cash from guests/performs credit card authorizations and services
- Properly executes closing procedures
- Runs POS daily server financial report
- Completes closing financial paperwork
- Completes closing side work for specific table sections
- Re-stocks bar(s), ensures bar(s) are kept clean, tidy and organized by all bartenders
- All other tasks and duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of beverage knowledge
- Previous hospitality experience preferred
- Experience in a high volume restaurant is a must. Requires knowledge, skill and mental ability equivalent to completion of 2 years of high school
- Must have a working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor and common drink recipes. Requires basic math skills and the ability to handle money and operate a cash register or POS system.
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit as required by local or state government agency. Food service and/or other certification as required by franchise
- Must be able to lift minimum of 20lbs
