Job Description: 

The Liquid Credit Strategies Team (“LCS”) manages $114 in AUM across diversified portfolios of fixed

income investments, primarily consisting of senior secured floating rate bank loans and high yield bonds

of non-investment grade companies. The group manages and sub-advises 166 funds accounts in US and

Europe, including Collateralized Loan Obligations, Separately Managed Accounts, Commingled Funds,

Closed End Funds and Business Development Companies. LCS also invests in the debt and equity tranches

of CLOs.

LCS is seeking an experienced investment professional to join the Portfolio Management team of

Blackstone’s leading CLO Franchise with $35B of CLO assets across 70+ portfolios, and partner with the

credit analyst team and traders to identify trade opportunities to drive relative value, risk management,

and portfolio performance.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of credit analysis and loan market/trading and

will leverage strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with

various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Constructing model portfolios that meet return hurdles with appropriate levels of risk
  • Partnering with the investment team to develop trade ideas and identify emerging risks in the portfolios 
  • Generating thematic portfolio trades — ratings, sector, yield etc.
  • Liaising between the research, capital markets and trading teams

Qualifications: 

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. Candidate should be a team-oriented individual who thrives on challenge in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required. MBA or CFA preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in credit portfolio construction and management and/or trading
  • Strong judgement and ability to prioritize and manage short and long term initiatives
  • Self starter mindset with ability to operate in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to write clearly and concisely

Expected annual base salary range:

$225,000 – $250,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual’s experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
