Job Summary:

Everest is seeking an AVP Underwriter of Tax & Transactional Risk to join our team. This role will be responsible for overseeing tax-related risks in corporate transactions, managing due diligence processes, and providing strategic insights to mitigate potential tax liabilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct legal, financial and business due diligence including industry analysis, competitive position, growth prospects, and capital markets position on potential transactional risk opportunities
  • Growing and managing a portfolio of profitable business focused on providing Representations & Warranties and Tax Indemnity Insurance products
  • Developing and cultivating new and existing broker and customer relationships
  • Working with brokers and clients to create customized insurance solutions
  • Perform all aspects of the underwriting process and due diligence including review and analysis of purchase and sale agreements, financial statements, current litigation trends and individual risk factors
  • Negotiate deal terms and contract language
  • Source new business opportunities through a strong broker, legal firm and client network

A successful candidate will be:

  • Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deals simultaneously
  • Comfortable with analyzing purchase and sale agreements, financial statements, and other legal documents across multiple industry segments
  • A strong individual as well as a team player, capable of building effective internal and external relationships through interpersonal skills

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Law degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience at a law firm, preferably in the M&A group, or a minimum of 5 years prior transactional risk underwriting experience
  • Excellent strategic, negotiation and analytical skills with a working knowledge of financial statement analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective negotiation skills with the ability to find “win/win” solutions
  • Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced and high-intensity work environment; ability to effectively prioritize tasks
  • Willing to take initiative, function independently and be entrepreneurial all with the highest standards of ethics and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to customer service as a differentiator

For NY Only: The base salary range for this position is $175,000 – $230,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
