Job Summary:
About the Role & Team
Provide planning and scheduling expertise to all WDI project teams and functional disciplines. Develop comprehensive implementation strategies and incorporate deliverables into project schedules. Prepare project life cycle and master schedules. Integrate all schedules (design disciplines, vendors, production and construction) and provide a comprehensive project perspective. Monitor, evaluate risks, and present recovery/mitigation plans to support turnover/opening schedule. Perform earned value analysis when needed. Provide progress reports and management presentations, as appropriate. You will report to Executive Project Controls.
What You Will Do
Under general guidance all of the primary duties of a Project Planner/Scheduler, and, in addition:
- Develop and maintain project life cycle and project integrated schedules using Primavera.
- Prepare project plans and work with scoping/strategy documents to develop integrated project master schedules.
- Coordinate with project teams and disciplines to develop appropriate level of detail for schedule activity definition to support project monitoring and reporting needs.
- Conduct and lead planning and coordination meetings as required to collect information in support of planning and monitoring functions.
- Ensure effective application of appropriate policies and procedures, including project planning/scheduling procedures and reporting requirements.
- Collect/report progress, evaluate variances, develop work-around plans, and coordinate resolution of variances.
- Conduct manpower/materials commodities loading/resource/tracking analysis and progress curves as required with team.
- Produce reports and presentations as required to support project needs and management reporting.
- Assist in preparation of the schedule reporting specification for the contract bid packages and determine Schedule Milestones and/or Key Dates for oversight by the Project Team members.
- Scope of responsibility may include any of the following depending on project size: show/ride concept development, show, ride, facility and area development design. Show and ride production and installation, show and ride test and adjust. Show programming and building construction disciplines.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 2 years engineering/construction planning and scheduling and/or themed entertainment planning/coordination experience, which includes a combination of:
- Critical Path Method scheduling experience utilizing scheduling software.
- Construction, production, and / or design experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Desired to have graphical program working knowledge and ability to provide visual presentations.
- Possess basic understanding of design and construction progress measurement including earned value measurement.
- Work experience in the following industries: Theme parks, Cruise Lines, Major Resort, show/ride product lines.
Education
- BS degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or equivalent.
