The El-Dahr Lab at Tulane University School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Section of Nephrology is seeking an outstanding candidate for a post-doctoral position.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the field of cell/developmental biology or related field. The successful candidate should have demonstrated productivity in related fields and have the talent and dedication to take advantage of the vast resources available at Tulane University. experience in the following areas is preferred: imaging, scRNA seq, cell/tissue culture and mice handling. Multiple approaches including molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry and genetic technologies will be used to elucidate the epigenetic regulation of kidney development and diseases, including chronic kidney diseases and kidney cancers. Knowledge of R programming or bioinformatic tools is a plus.
Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills are essential. Should be able to work effectively and collegially, design and evaluate experiments, develop new ideas that promote current research and contribute toward the preparation of scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator. May be required to train and supervise research staff and students.
The appointment will be reviewed on a yearly basis up to three years, based on research performance.
