- Accurately keep all accounting records and files regarding all the business of the church.
- Process and record all income and payables of the church, includes on-line payments and receivables.
- Supervise and count the weekly offerings with a volunteer if warranted, recording results to the members’ records.
- Process employee payroll, including all quarterly and year–end tax forms.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for the Stewardship Committee and Session.
- Meet monthly with the Stewardship Committee, providing input and aiding with the administrative work, including the annual operating budget, special projects and donations, and the annual stewardship campaign.
- Send contribution statements to the congregation.
- Ensure that an annual audit is completed for the church accounts.
- Coordinate all purchasing and organization of inventories with other staff members.
- Assist other committees with their part of the operating budget and monitor their administrative costs throughout the year.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of an associate degree in accounting or business administration, Bachelor‘s degree preferred;
- 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a church setting.
- Quick Books and Excel knowledge a must.
