What you’ll do as an Accountant

  • Compile, analyze, and record financial data into general ledger accounts, ensuring thorough documentation of business transactions.
  • Allocate expenditures, receipts, encumbrances, and receivables in alignment with established schedules.
  • Conduct statistical analyses to identify financial trends, variances, and projections; prepare narrative reports explaining findings.
  • Prepare and present balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports to summarize and interpret the company’s financial position for management.
  • Audit contracts, orders, vouchers, and supporting documentation to verify transaction accuracy before settlement.
  • Evaluate and approve financial transactions within authorized limits, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Monitor adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company accounting procedures.
  • Investigate, resolve, and correct discrepancies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Install, modify, and document accounting systems and control procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop and recommend accounting processes related to reserves, assets, expenditures, and overall financial management.
  • Conduct operational studies and provide actionable recommendations to enhance accounting practices.
  • Collect and analyze data to prepare federal, state, and local regulatory reports and tax filings.
  • Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • One to two years of relevant accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work independently, and meet strict deadlines.

Salary Range $60,000 – $ 70,000 year (based on experience)
