SALARY RANGE: $19.59 Minimum
$29.39 Maximun
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Manage and maintain district insurance programs in addition to other assigned responsibilities and duties to include the following:
QUALIFICATIONS:
TEA certification requirements
High School Graduate or GED
Life and Health insurance license preferred
Certification in Employee Benefits preferred.
Property/casualty and auto insurance license preferred
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English and Spanish
Excellent organizational skills
Must be proficient in Excel, Word processing, E-mail and Internet usage.
Must be proficient on 10-key calculator
Preferred:
At least 15 college hours in accounting.
Must have at least 5 years experience in the insurance industry
Prefer at least 5 years experience in employee benefits at a school district
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Coordinate insurance benefit training sessions; video & personal.
2. Organize and disseminate insurance information including amendments, rates, benefits,
enrollments, insurance servicing sessions, including HIPAA, Medicare, COBRA and other federal
mandates.
3. Conduct on-site insurance in-services for staff as requested.
4. Assists to resolve day to day insurance issues & disputes.
5. Liaison with insurance companies for the employees.
6. Manage Retired Dental Program.
7. Coordinate and conduct new employee orientation sessions.
8. Responds to all district insurance program inquiries.
9. Development and Implementation of worksite wellness programs and health benefit services
10. Support and assist the district’s Worker’s Compensation Specialist when required.
1. Premium payments for all District Insurance programs
2. Filing and maintenance of law suits with insurance companies
3. Filing fleet insurance claims involving all district owned vehicles
4. Filing property loses involving vandalism, fire, theft, natural disasters, etc.
5. Maintenance of property and casualty records to be provided to insurance company, as in the
sale or acquisition of real property
6. Conduct annual property inspections for schedule variance and valuations
7. Assist and monitor Student Athletic and Voluntary Accident Insurance inquiries and claims
disputes. Assist the athletic department with trainings on benefits of the athletic insurance
8. Liaison with insurance adjusters on claims settlements
1. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services – annual insurance comparability reporting, COB

2. Texas School Safety Center – certified safety inspector
3. HIPPA – PHI and Privacy and Security trained and certified
4. Business Associates Agreements
5. Maintenance of certificates of Liability
6. ACA Exchange notices
7. Medicare Part D Notices
8. Privacy Practices Notices
