API Engineer

Location: Hybrid

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have 5+ Years in API development, integration, and management.
  • Must have Cloud (AWS or Azure) Certification
  • Must 7+ have years of relevant hands-on experience in leading and implementing programs.
  • Must have demonstrated hands on coding experience.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree or Higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Must be able to obtain a Federal Security Clearance
  • Must be able to pass a background check that includes financials.
  • Previous or current experience supporting federal government agencies, IRS experience highly preferred.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful and/or SOAP APIs.
  • Experience with API gateways and management platforms (e.g., Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management).

Required Criteria:

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, C#).
  • Strong understanding of authentication and authorization frameworks (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect).
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with API testing and monitoring tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI, JMeter).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for API deployment.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into API solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
  • Understanding of API security best practices and compliance requirements.
