Assistant Professor – Center for Reproductive Sciences (CRS)
Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, UCSF
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) invites applications for a creative, collaborative Assistant Professor to join the Center for Reproductive Sciences (CRS). We welcome applications from exceptional early-career scientists poised to build an independent, high-impact research program advancing fundamental and translational discovery in reproductive and developmental biology. We are broadly interested, with particular strength in: germline and early developmental biology; placental/implantation biology; reproductive aging; multi-omics and functional genomics; computational biology/AI; and translational diagnostics/therapeutics. The successful candidate will benefit from UCSF’s world-class core facilities (genomics, imaging, single-cell, computational), vibrant graduate programs, and strong basic-clinical partnerships across campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead a rigorous, externally funded research program.
- Build cross-disciplinary collaborations within CRS and across UCSF.
- Teach and mentor graduate students, postdocs, and (as appropriate) residents/fellows.
- Contribute to program development, service, and an inclusive, equitable research culture.
Required Qualifications (at time of application):
- PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated record of research excellence and productivity commensurate with rank.
- Commitment to mentoring, team science, and inclusive excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postdoctoral training showing clear trajectory to independence.
- Evidence of innovation (e.g., new methods, datasets, tools) and collaborative leadership.
- experience leveraging institutional cores (genomics, imaging, single-cell, bioinformatics) and/or building translational pipelines.
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $131,200-$170,000. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. UCSF Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences has a total salary plan that uses National benchmarking standards to set salaries by subspecialty.
