Trident Maritime Systems – CAC, LLC is looking for a skilled and dependable Building Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Department in High Bridge, NJ. This role is essential in keeping our facilities safe, functional, and presentable through general construction, repair work, and day-to-day upkeep.
The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for a wide range of general construction and building maintenance tasks. This includes drywall installation, painting, carpentry, minor facility repairs, and support for company events and facility improvements. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, reliable, and proactive in maintaining a safe and well-functioning work environment.
Perform drywall installation, patching, sheetrock repairs, and interior/exterior painting.
Handle carpentry tasks such as framing, door and trim installation, and small renovation projects.
Conduct routine facility maintenance including ceiling tile replacement, flooring repair, and minor plumbing/electrical fixes.
Assist in moving and assembling furniture; support event setup and teardown.
Maintain clean and organized work areas while following safety protocols.
Inspect building areas regularly to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
Respond to maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
Use hand and power tools to complete tasks.
Support other maintenance team members and attend required training sessions.
Work flexible hours as needed based on workload and business priorities.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in general construction, drywall, painting, or carpentry preferred.
Familiarity with hand and power tools and standard safety practices.
Experience with basic plumbing or electrical repairs is a plus.
Heavy equipment operation experience is preferred.
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 100 lbs) and perform physical tasks on a regular basis.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
Frequent use of hands and fingers, talking, and hearing.
Occasional walking, kneeling, crouching, and lifting.
Vision requirements include close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The facility environment can vary in noise and temperature.
