Caretaker – Los Griegos Health & Social Service Center (30 hour)

Position Summary

Perform daily maintenance, janitorial and custodial duties and functions as the Health and Social Services Center (HSSC) facility caretaker; assist center staff with stocking the food pantry, commodity pick-up and unload, making food boxes, room set-up and breakdown and maintaining clothing bank.

This is an unclassified at-will position.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

Some custodial, maintenance or caretaker experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.

Possession of a City Operator’s Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.

Preferred Knowledge

  • General repair, maintenance, custodial work, and social service programs
  • Basic custodial practices
  • General cleaning and maintenance techniques
  • Safe use of cleaning chemicals and agents
  • Occupational hazards and standard safety practices

Preferred Skills & Abilities

  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Communicate clearly and concisely
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
