Position: Client Software Administrator

Reports to: IAM Team Lead

Overview

Responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining our organization’s Windows- based IT infrastructure. Ensure systems run smoothly and securely, drive continuous improvements, and serve as a trusted technical advisor to the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Endpoint Management: Globally administer Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Microsoft Intune, and similar technologies to deploy and manage software.
  • Deployment Coordination: Organize and coordinate software & hardware upgrades and repairs within the desktop environment.
  • Package Evaluation & Testing: Evaluate, maintain and refine desktop application packages; drive testing, pilot programs and prototype implementations for new software.
  • Develop & Maintain Packages: Design, build and update automated application installation packages using industry-standard tools and best practices.
  • Software & Application Packaging Standards: Enforce internal packaging guidelines and ensure all software and application deliverables adhere to industry best practices.
  • Custom Installer Enhancements: Create and integrate custom actions to extend Windows installer functionality for complex deployments.
  • Patch & Update Management: Plan, test and deploy service packs, hotfixes and application updates to ensure systems remain secure and compliant.
  • Application Lifecycle Lead: Lead the configuration, testing, maintenance and monitoring of all end‑user applications and systems, serving as the primary point of ownership.
  • Compatibility & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve Windows 10/11 compatibility issues; perform advanced troubleshooting of registry, file/folder security and OS‑level problems.
  • Publishing & Delivery: Lead application publishing processes and oversee reliable delivery across diverse environments.
  • Document Processes: Record packaging workflows, configurations and updates in standardized documentation templates and databases.
  • Knowledge Management: Create and maintain knowledgebase content—known issues, workarounds, procedures and application‑specific guidance.
  • Technical Consulting: Advise management on software selection to meet business requirements, recommending modifications to improve workflows and expand system capabilities.
  • Infrastructure Development: Architect and maintain the underlying infrastructure that supports efficient application delivery and distribution.
  • Deployment Analytics: Track, analyze and report on application and patch deployment success, ensuring target outcomes are met.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Global System Support to troubleshoot distribution issues and drive resolution for escalated problems.
  • Project Leadership: Lead and coordinate various IT projects as needed, aligning resources, timelines and cross-functional teams.
  • Status Reporting: Provide regular updates on progress, risks and timelines to management and project teams.

Qualifications

  • Endpoint Management & Deployment: Proven experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting MECM (SCCM) and Microsoft Intune infrastructures. Expertise with software packaging tools and managing medium to large-scale environments.
  • Operating Systems & OS Deployment: Deep knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Windows Server (2016/2019) administration. Proficient in OS deployment technologies, including task sequencing, Microsoft User State Migration Tool (USMT), and Operating System Deployment (OSD) tools.
  • Patch & Update Management: Strong background with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) or equivalent patch-management solutions.
  • Networking & Infrastructure Fundamentals: Solid understanding of client/server architectures, TCP/IP networking, and internet fundamentals. Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure services.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert-level troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Advanced PC literacy, including Microsoft Office suite and rapid adoption of proprietary applications.
  • Project & Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead teams through defined project‑management methodologies to on‑time delivery. Skilled at prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Able to build strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external partners at all levels.

Education & Work Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • MECM (SCCM) Administration.
  • Azure experience supporting Intune.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) and/or CompTIA
