Job Summary: The B2B Collections Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s accounts receivable by handling business-to-business (B2B) collections. This role focuses on collecting overdue payments from corporate clients, resolving outstanding invoice issues, and ensuring a healthy cash flow. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, is detail-oriented, and possesses a solid understanding of credit and collections processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Collections: Proactively contact business customers to collect overdue payments via phone, email, and other communication channels, ensuring timely receipt of funds.
Account Management: Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, keeping track of payment status, outstanding balances, and collection activities.
Payment Negotiations: Negotiate payment terms, payment plans, and settlements with customers as needed, while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Dispute Resolution: Collaborate with internal departments, including Sales, Billing, and Customer Service, to resolve invoice discrepancies and disputes that may delay payments.
Customer Communication: Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, providing excellent customer service while effectively communicating collection requirements.
Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers to ensure all payments are accurately recorded and applied.
Reporting: Prepare regular aging reports and provide updates to management on collection activities, account status, and delinquency trends.
Risk Management: Identify and escalate high-risk accounts to management and recommend actions, such as credit holds or legal referrals, when necessary.
Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of collection activities, communications, and agreements.
Process Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to the collections process to reduce delinquency rates and improve cash flow.
