POSITION DETAILS
The Division of Student Development and Enrollment Management (SDEM) provides quality services and programs to all students from the time they first apply to Hostos to the point of graduation. Our goals are to support students’ academic achievement for career development; to enhance students’ intellectual, aesthetic, and social growth; to facilitate critical thinking skills; and to promote civic responsibility.
The successful candidate will report to the Director of Assessment and Communications in the Office of the Vice President. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Design artwork and provide production expertise for SDEM college publications including flyers, posters, and pamphlets; format art and content for email and social media communications.
- Oversee the development of creative assets, manage production schedules, and coordinate production activities with internal and external partners to ensure consistency and alignment with College messaging, brand, core values, and priorities.
- Assess SDEM marketing, branding, and communications needs.
- Manage SDEM social media content and calendar.
- Participate in planning content, graphic elements, and formats appropriate to departmental requirements as well as College branding and ADA-compliant standards.
- Supervise communication interns.
- Oversee communications design-related equipment inventories and coordinate maintenance of specialized equipment and technology.
- Manage archive of past communications materials.
- Collaborate with the college print shop, computer center, and other departments to ensure support of SDEM visual communication needs.
- Engage with photographers and writers toward communicating through College channels such as websites, email, digital screens, presentation materials, flyers, posters, postcards, social media platforms, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree and four years’ related experience required.
The following qualifications are preferred:
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite [InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.]
- Experience using CRM and PeopleSoft, Proficient in video editing, Social Media Savvy
- Proficient in video editing
- Availability to work evening and weekend hours
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Provides design and production expertise for College publications, written materials, and multi-media communications.
- Works with department and other College administrators to assess departmental publication needs and determine appropriate production and design elements
- Participates in planning communications messages, graphic elements, and formats appropriate to client requirements
- Manages production schedules and budgets, coordinating production activities with internal and external personnel
- Plans and implements on-line and multimedia communications, coordinating with Information Technology professionals as needed
- Supervises staff both creative and production staff; works with College print shop, computer center, and other departments to ensure support of college publication needs
- May oversee equipment inventories and coordinate maintenance of specialized equipment and technology
- Develops production workflows, policies and standards, and assures adherence to any internal or external communications standards
- Performs related duties as assigned.

$52,267 – $70,238; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
