The Controller role will be a key player in our leadership team, ensuring efficient accounting operations, financial precision and supporting our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Oversee and provide daily direction to a large accounting team, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and deadlines.

  • Financial Reporting: Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of all financial statements in compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations.

  • Operational Oversight: Maintain strong internal controls and manage all accounting operations, including AP, AR, project accounting, and cost control.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and financial standards. Serve as a liaison for external auditors and manage the audit process.

  • System Optimization: Identify and implement technology and process enhancements to drive efficiency and scalability for the accounting function.

  • Team Development: Mentor, develop, and inspire the accounting team to deliver high-performance results in a fast-paced work environment.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Construction industry experience highly preferred. Prior Public Accounting experience also preferred.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is highly preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting systems. Familiarity with job costing and construction project accounting is a strong plus.

  • Leadership: Proven track record of managing and mentoring large accounting teams with a focus on collaboration and efficiency.

  • Technology Savviness: Proficiency with financial software and strong Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities to effectively interact with stakeholders across all levels.
