The Department of Corrections at SCI-Somerset is seeking a Corrections Counselor 1 to play a crucial role in the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals in the correctional system. This position entails collaborating closely with incarcerated individuals to evaluate their needs, create tailored treatment plans, and support their successful transition back into society. Additionally, the role provides ongoing training and resources to enhance your counseling skills. In this position, you will provide professional counseling and case management services to inmates at your designated facility. Your responsibilities will include conducting individual counseling sessions, assisting inmates in accessing employment opportunities and community resources, as well as managing an inmate caseload through the development and maintenance of records and reports. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in parole planning and offer recommendations for re-entry services.

All employees must obtain Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) and Pennsylvania Justice Network (JNET) certification within two months of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this job.
