In this role, you will oversee and guide inmates in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a boiler plant that produces steam, hot water, chilled water, or electricity. Your responsibilities will include monitoring the plant’s systems, making necessary adjustments, and accurately recording fuel usage and boiler output. Additionally, you will suggest improvements to procedures or equipment to enhance efficiency. As an operator, you may also manage auxiliary electric generating equipment for regular electricity production or as a backup during emergencies. You will be accountable for the supervision and control of assigned inmates throughout your shift, with your work being assigned, monitored, and evaluated by a technical or administrative supervisor to ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational instructions.
