Counsel- PBM

This position will be responsible for providing legal advice on a variety of topics related to pharmacy networks. The qualified candidate must be able to develop a detailed and strategic understanding of the PBM business model and the various state and federal laws impacting pharmacy networks and network management. The position requires an understanding of the health care industry as well as the interpersonal skills necessary to understand and manage complexity, influence business colleagues, foster collaboration and drive results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review and negotiate pharmacy provider agreements.
  • Provide day-to-day legal support relating to the pharmacy network management.
  • Research and provide interpretative and practical advice regarding a variety of state and federal laws impacting pharmacy networks.
  • Effectively collaborate with internal partners to advise and respond to a variety of legal issues impacting the pharmacy network.
  • Develop strong business relationships with stakeholders involved with the Company’s pharmacy network operations.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from accredited law school/Bar membership required
  • At least 5 years corporate legal department or law firm experience
  • Broad knowledge of the health care and health services industry needed; knowledge of HIPAA and health care fraud, waste and abuse laws needed.
  • Experience in regulatory is preferred
  • Experience with provider networks is a plus
  • Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills, including negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to develop and manage relationships and collaborate effectively
  • Ability to identify issues and propose actionable legal and business solutions
  • Strong work ethic with effective time-management skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Demonstrated good judgment and attention to detail
  • Ability and desire to learn new subject areas and willingness to take on new responsibilities
  • Hybrid- 3 days a week in office.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
