Summary of Position

We are seeking a Course Developer to join our team within the Digital business unit. The Course Developer is responsible for assembling, editing, and publishing asynchronous training products that are delivered via SANS’ proprietary OnDemand platform, Litmos, or SCORM packages. This position requires high-level publishing skills and works closely with Course Production, Quality Assurance, and other groups within SANS. The Course Developer is responsible for ensuring that SANS Digital courses meet SANS’ strict quality standards and production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create interactive slides/templates in course authoring software for online training content

  • Assembly multi language content in course authoring software

  • Consistently meet deadlines set in the course production schedule

  • Follow defined processes and procedures

  • Work with the Quality Assurance Team to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the entire production and delivery process

  • Contribute to process improvement efforts

  • Other tasks as directed

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in the use of common eLearning authoring tools (Storyline)

  • Working knowledge in the use of layers, triggers, states, variables, and conditions

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products

  • Experienced in information security terminology

  • Ability to adhere to SANS course building and development procedures and delivery timelines

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, and work both independently and with others

  • Fluent in English, particularly in written communications

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of eLearning publishing experience using Storyline preferred

2- or 4-year college degree preferred

Reporting Relationships

The Course Developer will report to the Senior Manager of Course Building and Development

Work Environment

Remote work, may occasionally work after hours, on weekends, and travel up to 25% of the time

The base salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $70,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and years of experience. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
