As a Custodial Worker, your main responsibility will be to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility. Your duties will involve tasks such as mopping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing, dusting, and sweeping various items, including walls, floors, elevators, light fixtures, and wheelchairs. Additionally, you will be expected to use custodial supplies and modern cleaning equipment, as well as move and lift heavy furniture. Your duties will also include emptying waste containers, disposing of recyclable materials, and properly storing infectious waste. These tasks are crucial in creating a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

- Full-time employment (7.5 hours per day; 37.5 hours per week)
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, rotating days off and weekends, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Willingness and ability to work in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania
- Willing and able to work a full-time schedule
- Work experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person in an assisted living facility, nursing home, or hospital is preferred. (Experience might include such things as cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, offices or public areas; mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, and buffing)
- Work experience in an assisted living facility, nursing home, or hospital
- Work experience interacting with patients or residents while cleaning in patient or resident rooms or a dining room setting
- Work experience cleaning bodily fluids and disposing infectious waste into proper storage areas
- Work experience removing snow, trash, and debris from sidewalks and entrance ways
- Work experience using and mixing chemicals or solvents
- Work experience using manual or power equipment to mop, scrub, sweep, strip, wax, and buff floors
- Custodial work experience in one of the following: activity or recreation room; bathroom, shower, or bathing room; cafeteria or dining room; entranceway, lobby, or common space; nursing station; patient or resident rooms; pharmacy; physical therapy rooms
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
