THE ROLE:

The Data center strategy and operations team is seeking a Data Center Architect. In this role the focus is to work with our DC Ops, on managing AMD Data center operations an ensure delivery of projects such as deployments, migrations/moves & decommissions. Supporting new data center onboarding, while also maintaining operational life cycle of data center functions by maintaining and executing audits. Working closely with engineering groups and facility to execute infrastructure deployments. Developing project schedules to communicate to business partners. Managing these services ensures AMD data center growth and ensures we keep momentum going for our product development.

THE PERSON:

You are a highly motivated self-starter, who is passionate about solving problems and reaching goals. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and collaborate well with others on your team, as well as with other business units.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate the execution of audits within data center to ensure up time of facility by reporting on power and cooling usages.
• Reports on inventory of data center operational materials.
• Space planning forecasting and management, to build out related racks and rack infrastructure to plan for hardware installations and moves.
• Generating reports on data center metrics.
• Responsible for leading a team installing, maintaining and repairing hardware, OS mass deployments & supporting data center infrastructure to accommodate growth.
• Responsible for the asset documentation into a data center infrastructure management tool (DCIM).
• Manage team providing hardware support for IT assets following incident management/change management workflows.
• Manage report structure to ensures quality and timeliness of production and non-production activities with other operations.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Data center power & cooling design experience.
• Data center infrastructure management tool (DCIM), CAD, Visio.
• Extensive live production data center experience and operations.
• Deployment of infrastructure PDU, Network, Storage, Servers.
• Data center reporting metrics.
• Incident management/change management experience.
• Reporting on project status.
• DCIM asset management/documentation experience.
• Space planning forecasting management of data center space.
• Experience on large scale deployments and migrations.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS in Computer Science or Technical IT Certificate.
