Data Center Technician

About the role

As a Data Center Technician, you will make an impact by ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and fixing of data center infrastructure. You will be a valued member of the team and work closely with the Digital Support Services team.

In this role, you will:

  • Install and configure hardware components such as servers, routers, and switches
  • Work on the installation and upgrade of IOS, OS, ESXi
  • Help to replicate or build configurations based on customer requirement.
  • Install and network of Managed Power Distribution Unites mPDUs
  • Cable management, including running, organizing, topology clean-up, and labelling network cables
  • Solving and Break Fix Tasks
  • Conduct basic diagnostics to identify hardware issues.
  • Network debugging, tracking layer 1 to 3 issues.
  • Router, Switch, installation and Upgrade experience.
  • Rack & Stack, PDU installation experience.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Atlanta, GA.

Datacenter Hands and Feet Support Engineer – Well versed in below activities

  • Equipment Moves, Installation and Setup
  • Problem Solving and Issue Resolution
  • Decommissioning and Disposal
  • Maintenance and Repairs
  • Monitoring and Reporting
  • Inventory Asset Management
  • Emergency Response
  • Lab Cleanliness and Safety
  • Basic Testbed Support

These will help you stand out

  • Experience in labelling inventory tracking for components and devices inside Datacenter.
  • Intra and Inter lab equipment and rack moves.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until June 29, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $ 48,000 – $ 62,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
