The Global Growth and Opportunity (GGO) division focuses on creating and scaling market-based innovations to stimulate inclusive and sustainable economic growth. We seek to catalyze sustainable transformative change in the face of inequities and market failures, to realize the potential of untapped markets, and to see the economic and social benefits of including everyone. Core areas are Agricultural Development; Digital Public Infrastructure; Global Education; Inclusive Financial Systems; Nutrition; and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. The Office of the President supports all aspects of the strategic and operational functioning of the GGO division and supports the division President to lead and oversee our diverse and exciting work. GGO has gone through rapid growth in recent years, currently comprising almost 200 staff and close to $1 billion in annual charitable payout.
Your Role
The Deputy Director, Measurement, Learning and Evaluation (DD MLE) in the GGO Office of the President leads division-level efforts on measurement, learning, assessment and evaluation. You are responsible for leading a team of divisional strategy support staff to ensure GGO has strong practices and performance in gauging strategy progress against key outcomes, researching key strategy-related topics as they emerge, and bringing innovative thinking and approaches to measurement, assessment and evaluation in developing or refining strategies. You serve as the division’s representative for foundation initiatives on impact measurement, portfolio optimization and reporting. You act as a key collaborator and resource to MLE and strategy, planning and management counterparts in the program teams. You lead on leveraging insights from research and evaluation to develop high-quality, engaging learning experiences for the division, and to explore areas for effective cross-team collaboration.
This role reports to the Chief of Staff, Office of the President, for the Global Growth and Opportunity division. This position is located in Seattle, WA where employees enjoy a flexible, hybrid work schedule, working from the office 50% of the time. Relocation assistance is provided for domestic or international relocation to Seattle, WA if hired for this position.

The salary range for this role is $204,600 to $317,100 USD. We recognize high-wage market differences in Seattle and Washington D.C., where our offices are located. The range for this role in these locations is $222,900 to $345,500 USD. As a mission-driven organization, we strive to balance competitive pay with our mission. New hires salaries are typically between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.
