Digital Technology – Director, Solution Delivery, App Technology

The mission of the Digital Technology Department is to design, build, deliver, and operate robust, efficient, and scalable Digital technology solutions that align with our strategic, business, and technology goals.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Aritzia is growing and our Digital Technology team is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for delivering everyday luxury experiences to Aritzia’s clients by leveraging technology to meet and exceed the vision and mission of the business. As the Director, Digital Technology, App, you will oversee the design, development, implementation, and support of Aritzia’s App technology. This role will be a critical part of the cross-functional Digital, Support, and Marketing leadership teams, including Digital Strategy, Digital Product Management, Digital Design, Omni, Enterprise Technology, and Data & Analytics. You will represent the very best of solution delivery in a variety of large scale and transformative technology. THE ROLE

As the Director, Digital Technology, App, you will lead the team to:

  • Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day-to-day function of the department in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience
  • Establish a clear vision and strategic direction for Digital Technology at Aritzia, ensuring timely prioritization of opportunities, leveraging top talent, and driving efficiency while making smart investments (with a focus on App)
  • Optimize the value of technology solutions for our customers & the business by efficiently planning and delivering high-quality solutions (with a focus on App)
  • Provide features that unlock business and technology value (with a focus on App)
  • Provide reliable and performant solutions with excellent proactive and reactive support (with a focus on App)
  • Bridge development, security and operations, fostering collaboration, continuous integration, and rapid delivery through automation, shared responsibility, and iterative improvement (with a focus on App)
  • Provide the process, tools, and coaching to drive Development & Engineering efficiency (with a focus on App)
  • Ensure best-in-class service at all levels and enable acquisition of technology assets (with a focus on App)
  • Deliver high-quality cybersecurity services and solutions that minimize risk across Aritzia Enterprise Technology’s systems and data (with a focus on App)
  • Provide a robust & scalable technology foundation (with a focus on App)

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The Director, Digital Technology, App has:

  • Proven and best-in-class skills, applicable certifications, education and/or experience in:
    • Delivering a scalable cross-platform architecture to fulfill the needs of web and mobile
    • Building cross-platform mobile development teams
    • Main programming languages & frameworks involved in mobile development such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React Native, Swift, or Node
    • Using React Native libraries and testing tools such as:
      • Redux-Persist or MobX-Persist for state persistence
      • Realm, Firebase or similar
      • AsyncStorage or WatermelonDB for offline data storage
      • SQLite or Realm for local database management
      • BrowserStack
      • Detox
    • Using CI/CD tools such as:
      • Github Actions & Workflows
      • Fastlane
    • Exposure to the following (or similar platforms):
      • Instabug to support the QA/UAT process
      • Datadog for observability & monitoring
      • Launch Darkly for feature flagging or similar
      • Service workers for progressive web applications (PWAs) and other offline-first strategies
      • Understanding of background sync and local notifications to improve user engagement
      • Contentful for content management
      • Algolia for search
      • Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC & OCAPI)
      • Google Cloud

THE COMPENSATION

The typical hiring range for this position is $200,000-$300,000 per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Additionally, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
