Shift: 10:00 am-7:00 pm Monday thru Friday

Position Summary

This position is responsible for executing a daily plan for movement of all freight within an assigned area.

Essential Functions

  • Assess customer needs and timing of deliveries
  • Manage daily delivery schedule for drivers
  • Assist in equipment maintenance scheduling
  • Knowledgeable in basic DOT hours of service regulations
  • Receive orders from customers
  • Provide frontline customer service for existing accounts
  • Answer all incoming phone calls promptly and courteously
  • Monitor e-mail for incoming orders and communication between team members
  • Create and enter loads in dispatch system
  • Enter incidents into safety reporting system

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of dispatching experience
  • Excellent conflict resolution and skills
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
