As a result, in fiscal year 2021, IFC delivered 32% in own account climate finance and mobilized $7 billion for climate.

More recently, in April 2021, the WBG developed a new Climate Change Action Plan (2021 – 2025) that outlines the institutions collective response to align financial flows with the goals of the Paris Agreement (referred to as “Paris Alignment”). The Agreement explains the need to hold the increase in the global average temperature to well below2°C above preindustrial levels and pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase to5°C above preindustrial levels. Per the Action Plan, IFC has committed to align 85% of new operations with the goals of Paris Agreement by July 1, 2023, and 100% of these by July 1,

As part of the IFC, the Climate Business Department (CBworks across the organization and beyond to implement the climate change action plan. CBD is responsible for among other things, supporting IFC investment and advisory teams to identify and account for climate investments, track committed climate finance, partner with Treasury on the IFC’s Green Bond Program, develop analytical tools, lead climate risk management, and develop thought leadership via publications and external partnerships.

IFC’s Climate Business Department (CBworks across the organization and beyond to implement the Climate Change Action Plan and deliver on Paris Alignment. To deliver on its priorities, CBD’s Climate Capacity & Inclusion Accelerator (CBDCteam engages with staff, clients and partners to raise global and internal knowledge and capacity to unlock private investment around select thematics including sustainable finance (Green Bonds, Sustainability Bonds, Sustainabilitylinked finance, Transition Finance, etc.); nature based solutions; and circular economy (business models that reduce the use of virgin materials, maximize the use and retained value of materials along the production and consumption value chain, and reduce waste and pollutio.

CBDCI is seeking a highly motivated and capable Extended Term Consultant (ETcommitted to enabling knowledge sharing across IFC.
The candidate will take a supporting role in helping the department to roll out multiple internal learning events/fora. The willingness and interest to create new learning capabilities, and curate existing learning leveraging the Open Learning Campus (OLis key.

S/he will also support action research and justintime training on topics such as carbon pricing, climate risk, and impact measurement using inputs from specialists across IFC teams. The role will require collaborating with multiple stakeholders across IFC, in particular operations, corporate functions, and the human resource teams. The position will be based in Washington DC, and the consultant will report to the Climate Knowledge program lead.

The primary role of the Consultant is to support the key works of CBDCI. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating with subject matter experts, and supporting delivery of:

Learning Event Coordination and Knowledge Sharing

•  Develop Climate Learning Paths: Create and manage IFC’s gradeand rolebased Climate Learning Paths available across multiple platforms (IFC Intranet, World Bank Group’s LMto onboard new and upskill existing IFC staff. Ensure regular updates are made to accommodate evolving climate priorities.
•  Event Design and Management:

    o  Design and manage onboarding and learning aids, such as selfpaced online learning, videos, checklists, and presentation materials.
o  Manage the delivery of facetoface (F2and hybrid learning programs, including webinars, workshops, and interactive sessions.
o  MultiModal Climate Knowledge Events: Lead the organization and execution of multimodal Climate knowledgesharing events, such as BBLs, workshops, clinics, and conferences; Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of these events.

•  CBD Curriculum Delivery: Coordinate the delivery of CBD’s learning curriculum, prioritizing in collaboration with the lead and management team.
•  Annual Climate Network Meeting: Support the delivery of the annual inperson Climate Network Meeting, managing event budget, logistics, participation, and postevent reporting.

Content Development and Systems Support:

•  Internal Systems for Learning and Communication:
o  Support the creation of internal systems for events, communication, and training courses to foster learning across CBD, IFC, and the World Bank Group (WB.
o  Curate IFC & WB Climate Events: Develop mechanisms to track IFC and WBwide Climate events and ensure these are curated on the IFC Climate intranet for better outreach and participation.
o  Curate events for departmental newsletters, including Climate Matters and COOL, ensuring effective outreach.

•  Content and Communication Materials:
o  Develop information and communication materials (e.g., brochures, messages, presentationusing various media formats.
o  Assist with creating and maintaining OLC resources and courses and manage updates for departmental learning resources.

Reporting and Tracking:

•  Tracking Participation and Event Ratings: Develop tools and processes to track IFC and CBD staff participation in climaterelated learning, capturing event ratings, and ensuring the data is kept up to date for reporting and improvement.
•  Quarterly and AdHoc Reports: Generate quarterly and adhoc reports on Knowledge and Learning activities, working with stakeholders to collate data and analyze next steps.

Procurement and Resource Management: Assist in the procurement of tools, magazines, and data sources as needed by the department, liaising with internal IFC stakeholders such as the Procurement Office and Office of Information Security.

Other: Assist the team lead with the delivery of other CBDrelated work, including project management and capacitybuilding initiatives as per evolving needs.

 

Selection Criteria

 

The ideal candidate should have expertise in learning coordination, with the ability to manage multiple projects, develop innovative approaches, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

•  Master’s degree in management, public administration, or a related field.
•  Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in learning event coordination, content creation, or online learning.
•  Understanding of IFC’s climaterelated strategic priorities.
•  Proven experience designing and delivering learning programs using various tools and methods.
•  Track record in producing learning products (e.g., scripts, videos, newsletter.
•  Strong analytical skills, including the ability to conduct surveys and produce datadriven reports.
•  Experience in results measurement and learning strategy within the WBG context.
•  Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
•  Attention to detail and ability to prioritize under tight deadlines.
•  Strong interpersonal skills, with experience engaging stakeholders at all levels.
