Salary: $95,000 – $160,000/Year + Full Benefits

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Construction Estimator to take the lead in preparing and managing large-scale, complex bids for public works electrical construction projects. This role is designed for an experienced professional with a strong technical foundation, the ability to develop winning strategies, and the drive to influence business growth through accurate and competitive estimating.

The Senior Estimator will play a key role in shaping project outcomes and expanding market presence, with responsibilities ranging from early conceptual budgets to final proposals for projects valued up to $25 million.

What You’ll Do

Project Estimating

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for high-value, complex electrical projects, including multi-million-dollar bids.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda to capture full project scope.
  • Build comprehensive budgets, unit costs, and labor productivity models to ensure accuracy.
  • Develop conceptual estimates for clients during preconstruction phases.
  • Offer value engineering solutions that balance cost efficiency with design integrity.

Client & Market Engagement

  • Support business development by collaborating on growth strategies and proposal presentations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing clients with reliable cost and feasibility insights.
  • Represent the company at pre-bid meetings, job walks, and industry events.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Independently manage multiple concurrent bids from start to finish.
  • Lead pre-bid site visits and coordinate scope clarification with stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide junior estimators, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Provide thorough project handoffs to operations teams, ensuring smooth transitions from bid to build.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Issue and track RFIs to clarify scope and ensure bid accuracy.
  • Maintain well-organized estimate files and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all deliverables comply with internal standards and client requirements.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.
  • 8-12 years of progressive estimating experience in the electrical construction industry preferably with bidding on K-12 School projects
  • Proven success managing and winning projects valued up to $25M.
  • Established relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Strong command of industry software: Trimble Accubid, Trimble LiveCount, Bluebeam
