Electrician I: $22.05 to $24.26 hourly

Journeyman Electrician: $24.18 to $26.60 hourly

Master Electrician:$25.38 to $27.92 hourly

Selections for current vacancies will be based upon the candidate’s highest level of current/active license held. Please see requirements listed below.

Work schedule involves shift work and includes stand-by, overtime, and holidays as needed. Performs skilled crafts and trade work in the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of facility and/or industrial electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.

REQUIREMENTS:

Electrician I: Three (3) years of experience in industrial electrical systems. Successful completion of coursework in electrical technology at an accredited vocational-technical school or community college may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis [30 semester (45 quarter) hours = one year experience.

Journeyman Electrician: Four (4) years of experience working with commercial or industrial electrical systems; OR successful completion of a documented hands-on four (4) year [2,000 hours per year] on-the-job-apprenticeship training program working with a licensed electrical contractor. Must possess, or obtain with twelve (12) months of employment, a valid Brevard County Journeyman’s Electrical license or a valid active State of Florida Electrical Contractor’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment.

Master Electrician: Five (5) years of experience in industrial electrical systems. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Must possess and maintain a valid Brevard County Master Electrician License or equivalent State or County license accepted by Brevard County Contractor Licensing.

All Levels:Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be physically capable at all times of properly wearing and utilizing all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Must be able to work planned and unplanned overtime, standby, and call out duties on a rotational basis, and nights, weekends, and holidays, when necessary. Employee will be required to satisfactorily complete all mandatory County training. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
