Location: Glen Allen, VA 23060
Pay Rate: $22.00/hr. on W2 without benefits
Duration: 6+ months
Work Hours: Shift Hours: Standard Shift
Role & Responsibilities:
- Accurately process, key, and scan the incoming Summer EBT paper applications in the VaCMS system based on the script and information provided on the application.
- Contact clients who have requested an appeal to the eligibility determination on their case, and provide detailed explanation for the eligibility determination.
Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience:
- Ability to learn, use, and key into a data system with minimal errors.
- Ability to key data into an Excel spreadsheet.
- Ability to open mail, review it, and determine the next steps in the process.
- Ability to read, verbalize, and comprehend a written script.
- Ability to collaborate with staff and managers within the division.
- Skill in communicating effectively, orally, and in writing with clients who may be upset about an eligibility determination.
- Ability to work in a professional environment, respond to multiple requests, and recognize and resolve problems.
- Ability to analyze and formulate conclusions and recommendations.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive issues/documents.
- NOTE: The contractor worker will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Mandatory skills/certification(s) requirement:
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check is required.
Desired skills / Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience working with an electronic data system.
- One year of experience in working in an office environment.
- Basic computer skills in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to de-escalate callers and provide excellent customer service based on scripts.
- Effective verbal, written communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to embrace change in a fast-paced environment and multitask across a variety of projects.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, to work under pressure with established deadlines, and to work independently or as a team player.
Computer software to be used :
- Scanner, copier, Microsoft Excel. Outlook. Benefit Eligibility System, VaCMS.
- Preferred experience with VaCMS and Call Center technology. VDSS will teach VaCMS, as needed.
- Equipment to be used by the temporary staffing professional(s) Laptop, cell phone, Bluetooth headset device
