Position Summary:

Applied Training Solutions, LLC is seeking an Energy Sector Specialist to coordinate with Emergency Support Functions (ESF) 12 and 19 and other State Emergency Response Team (SERT) partners. This role involves assisting with power and fuel incident response and remediation, and providing strategic, tactical, and operational intelligence to support effective decision-making and response operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with ESF 12/19 and other SERT partners on energy-related incident response
  • Assist with remediation efforts related to power or fuel disruptions during emergencies
  • Support strategic, tactical, and operational planning related to energy sector response
  • Provide timely and actionable intelligence to decision-makers during incidents
  • Contribute to situational awareness and status reporting for energy infrastructure
  • Engage with private sector energy providers and regulatory partners to resolve issues
  • Assist with documentation, tracking, and coordination of energy sector resources
  • Support after-action review and improvement planning activities related to energy response

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues related to infrastructure and operations
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • experience working with utility providers or in energy emergency response
  • Ability to interpret data and provide operational intelligence during crises
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with energy infrastructure systems and emergency operations
  • Knowledge of FEMA ESF-12/19 responsibilities and coordination frameworks
  • Experience in SEOC or utility company operations during disaster events

  • U.S. Citizenship Required: Yes
  • Performance Location: On-site while on assignment (location TBD)
  • Relocation Assistance: Not applicable
  • Clearance Required: None
  • Travel Required: Yes – up to 100% while on assignment

Working Environment:

The work environment includes Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs), utility coordination centers, or field support locations. Extended hours and travel throughout the continental United States and its territories may be required during emergency activations.
