position Overview: Manage and oversee both the Diversity Leadership Society and Pride United Donor Networks. Responsible to develop, manage and implement effective strategies and tactics to increase donor engagement, and in turn increase financial contributions from strategic donor groups to United Way’s annual campaign with a focus on leadership contributions ($1,200+). Provide professional service to individual donors and volunteers, ensuring quality follow through and overall satisfaction. This position reports to the Manager, Donor Networks.
THIS POSITION LEADS TWO DONOR NETWORKS:

Council and Network Management

  • Initiate and execute plans and strategies to build both donor networks, including but not limited to:
  • Identify and recruit co-chairs that give at the leadership level.
  • Alongside co-chairs, identify and recruit council members.
  • Work with division co-chairs to establish the direction of donor network, council, and subcommittees.
  • In partnership with United Way’s Community Impact team, identify and uplift the signature United Way issue supported by each network.
  • In partnership with United Way’s Marketing & Communications team, develop communications strategy and marketing plan/materials to promote donor networks.
  • Schedule and organize monthly co-chair meetings and quarterly subcommittee meetings.
  • Plan and support engaging quarterly council meetings.
  • Establish annual program calendar for each network including meetings, events, volunteer opportunities, etc.
  • Provide excellent support to network council members who include many top community leaders and high-level donors.

Event Management

  • Manage signature events and smaller events/initiatives for each network including budgeting, logistics, promotion, and volunteer involvement.
  • Work with Corporate Engagement team to secure and manage event sponsorships.

Fundraising

  • Set financial goals and track annual giving from network leadership and members.
  • Equip co-chair and/or council members to follow-up with leadership and members regarding their personal giving.
  • Support network leadership’s fundraising efforts by providing donor and prospect lists for review, assigning appropriate calls to each volunteer, providing information and/or materials to support fundraising calls, and following up regularly to ensure volunteer success.
  • Work closely with the Individual Engagement team to identify leadership and major giving potential from donor network members including planned giving potential.
  • Identify and support solicitation of new workplace giving campaigns.

Other

  • Ensure that account data is collected and input into ANDAR.
  • Create donor network content in internal and external communications.
  • Work with council board representatives to prepare United Way Board updates, as necessary.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES
Successfully manage donor network programs. Build and maintain positive relationships with network leaders and members. Effectively communicate United Way’s value-add to all constituents. Increase engagement and revenue from donor network leaders and members.
PERFORMANCE STANDARD
All United Way information is held confidential. There is no disclosure of any internal United Way strategic information, or volunteer, vendor, and donor information.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
education & experience REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate degree related to marketing, business or management, nonprofit management or philanthropy, or human services from four-year college or university and 3-5 years fundraising, volunteer management or related experience.
  • Board, capital campaign cabinet, nonprofit committee, or donor advisory committee management required.
  • Management of small or large-scale events required.
  • Management of a diversity-focused or LGBTQ-specific fundraising or volunteer group preferred.
  • Understanding of marketing, sales or fundraising and customer service roles.
  • Understanding of nonprofit organizations, human services, and philanthropy.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, reach, stoop and occasionally kneel.

  • Light to moderate lifting is required (such as loading paper into a paper tray).
  • Ability to uphold to the stress of traveling (in designated positions).
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required; including additional overtime as business demands dictate.
