EPMO Lead Enterprise Portfolio Manager

As a Lead Enterprise Portfolio Manager, you will oversee multiple large-scale projects and programs-including acquisition integrations-across the enterprise. Aligned to the VP Head of Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), this role is responsible for successful planning, execution, monitoring and delivery of the highest value strategic enterprise-level (i.e. critical, large, complex) projects within their assigned portfolio line of business and function. This individual will ensure that enterprise governed projects align with the company’s strategic objectives and are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while surfacing issues and problems for quick resolution if these projects are off track on timing, budget or quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage multiple large projects and programs, ensuring cross-functional planning and oversight of new initiatives.
  • Lead multiple acquisition integration programs, ensuring alignment and successful delivery across the full scope of acquisitions.
  • Act as an internal consultant on high-value initiatives, contributing to enterprise strategic planning and translating business needs into actionable project strategies.
  • Oversee third-party contract creation, alignment, and performance monitoring to ensure project goals, scope, budget, and quality standards are met.
  • Leads directly managed projects and programs of work within the EPMO portfolio in accordance with published standards
  • Manages portfolios of work within the EPMO portfolio and is responsible for interfacing with Project Leads for the day-to-day management of that portfolio in line with published standards.
  • Manages cross program or portfolio dependencies
  • Collaborates with all levels throughout the organization to solve portfolio issues and risks to deliver business value
  • Exhibits mastery of written and spoken communication to all levels within the organization and owns forums to clearly communicate goals, statuses, issues and drive key decisions
  • Partners to solve complex issues within the program; takes a new perspective on existing solutions
  • Interprets internal or external issues and recommends solutions/best practices

Qualifications

  • 10-15+ years of experience in project and portfolio management.
  • Proven expertise in project management methodologies (waterfall, agile, hybrid).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to solve complex issues, recommend best practices, and drive strategic outcomes.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing large-scale project portfolio
  • Proven expertise in enterprise project governance, strategic planning, and transformation initiatives.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, or similar).
  • Project Management related certifications preferred.
Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $123,500 to $140,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees.
This position also offers additional incentive opportunities through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance.
