ERP Start-Up Leader & Production Planner – D365 (Aerospace)

The ERP Start-Up Leader & Production Planner will be responsible for leading the implementation, stabilization, and optimization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) within an aerospace manufacturing environment. This role combines strategic leadership in ERP deployment with hands-on production planning to ensure smooth operations, regulatory compliance, and alignment with business objectives. The position requires deep knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes, materials planning, and D365 Production/Operations modules.
Essential Responsibilities
ERP Implementation & Leadership 

  • Lead the start-up, configuration, and rollout of D365 modules relevant to manufacturing, production, supply chain, and quality. 
  • Act as the primary liaison between operations, IT, and ERP consultants to ensure system design meets business and aerospace compliance needs. 
  • Develop training programs and documentation to enable user adoption and maximize ROI from the ERP system. 
  • Oversee system data migration, testing, and validation activities. 
  • Identify and resolve process bottlenecks, ensuring ERP workflows align with lean manufacturing principles. 

Production Planning 

  • Create, maintain, and optimize production schedules using D365 to meet customer delivery commitments and internal efficiency targets. 
  • Manage MRP (Material Requirements Planning) to ensure accurate demand and supply alignment. 
  • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and quality teams to address shortages, non-conformances, or schedule risks. 
  • Monitor shop floor progress, adjusting schedules in response to changes in demand, capacity, or resource availability. 

Aerospace Compliance & Quality 

  • Ensure planning and ERP processes adhere to AS9100, FAA, and other relevant aerospace standards. 
  • Support traceability and documentation requirements for aerospace parts and assemblies. 
  • Partner with quality teams to embed compliance requirements into ERP workflows. 

Continuous Improvement 

  • Drive process improvements in production planning and ERP utilization to reduce lead times, improve on-time delivery, and optimize inventory. 
  • Monitor system performance and user feedback to guide enhancements. 

Qualifications and experience

  •  Proven experience leading ERP (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365) implementation or start-up in a manufacturing setting. 
  • Strong background in production planning, scheduling, and MRP within a regulated industry (aerospace preferred). 
  • Solid understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, supply chain, and quality systems. 
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and routing data. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel. 
  •  Experience with AS9100 compliance and aerospace traceability requirements. 
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools. 
  • ERP super-user experience, specifically in D365 Production, Master Planning, and Inventory modules. 
  • Project management certification is a plus.
