Description

Summit Truck Bodies LLC, a quality manufacturer of custom designed service and lube truck bodies, is expanding its workforce due to increasing sales. Summit Truck Bodies is looking for a Fabrication Scheduler/Planner to develop and maintain detailed production schedules for two automated fabrication lasers, one automated brake press, and one automated folding table.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and schedule the workflow for each machine and operation, ensuring alignment with established sequences and deadlines.
  • Regularly update and adjust schedules to accommodate changes in material availability, machine capacity, staffing, or project scope.
  • Communicate with engineering, purchasing, production, and other relevant teams to ensure alignment and address any scheduling conflicts or issues.
  • Provide regular updates on production progress, schedule adherence, and any potential disruptions to management.
  • Ability to analyze production data, identify potential issues, and develop effective solutions.
  • Understanding of fabrication processes and relevant software or tools.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with various teams and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple schedules, and meet deadlines.
  • Accuracy in planning and scheduling to minimize errors and ensure efficient operations.
  • Ability to adjust schedules and plans in response to changing circumstances
  • Ability to work effectively with others and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Frequent mobility and/or sitting, standing, bending or stooping for prolonged/extended periods.
  • Requires lifting up to 30 pounds frequently.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires working in areas which are not ventilated or air-conditioned.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery.
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
  • Requires working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations.
  • Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.

REQUIRED education, experience, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with good standing MVR.
  • Must have experience in precision machining and/or related field.
  • Previous experience in material planning, production scheduling or related roles is preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be responsive and highly efficient with relaying information.
  • Keen attention to detail is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant demands and shifting of priorities.
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to successfully pass a General Abilities Assessment and Post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
