FOOD PRODUCTION WORKER $18/HR TO $22/HR START ASAP!!!

Job Description

This hands-on role is situated in the production packaging area within a food production environment. The position involves working closely with a team to produce tortillas for renowned companies in the United States. Candidates must adhere to strict attire guidelines to prevent food contamination, which includes wearing a full gown and hair net, and refraining from wearing jewelry, makeup, nail polish, or fake eyelashes. The work environment can become extremely hot, reaching temperatures of up to 100 degrees, requiring candidates to be comfortable with such conditions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the team in the packaging area, managing duties such as palletizing, packing, and machine changeovers.
• Edit programs on the machine controller for job specifications including size, weight, bags, and speed.
• Perform documentation tasks, both written and computerized, detailing job completion, waste, serial numbers, and quantities.
• Act as a ‘Mini Line Lead’ to coordinate break times with team members, ensuring smooth operations.
• Discuss production shift details with the operator, including product quality and packaging materials.
• Ensure accurate reporting and accounting of pallets in the ERP System (PLEX).
• Complete check sheets and record all production information in ERP System (PLEX).
• Verify serial numbers and quantities of production materials delivered by warehouse staff.
• Set code dates for bags and boxes, and record finished weight and temperatures.
• Monitor and adjust packaging equipment, box taper, and counter/stackers for changeovers.
• Print labels accurately for finished goods.
• Ensure equipment operation by communicating with the maintenance team for repairs.

Essential Skills

• 1-2 years’ experience in operating production machinery, including equipment setups, start-ups, and adjustments.
• Proficiency in food production, especially bakery experience.
• Comfortable working with computers and adding information into the ERP system.
• Basic English or Spanish language skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to lift between 30-55lbs and push 30lbs consistently.
• Comfortable working in an environment with gluten particles.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.50 – $22.50/hr.
