General Ledger Accountant

About the Role: We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join our Fabrics accounting team. In this role, you will be part of a team providing valued accounting support and partnership to our businesses within a world class manufacturing enterprise.

This position will be located at one of our facilities in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Pay and Benefits:

  • $62,000 – $76,000 per year

Responsibilities:

  • Complete month-end closing tasks for the general ledger, including preparation and posting of journal entries, reconciling of bank accounts, reclassifications, and various other accruals
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Perform quarterly General Ledger activities, such as reconciliations, exception reporting, and other related tasks
  • Review, maintain, and implement processes to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Perform regular reviews of cost center balances to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Provide reporting and analysis to the Finance Team, and other relevant functions as needed
  • Support the independent financial audit
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls
  • Provide general ledger support across Operating Companies as needed fostering collaboration and consistency
  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure alignment and to support the changing needs of internal customers

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 3 years of general ledger or public accounting experience
  • US GAAP knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrated general ledger accounting knowledge
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to build relationships and be a strong business partner
  • Ability to communicate accounting concepts to non-financial associates
  • Ability to travel 5%

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Treasury accounting experience a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools
