MPA provides after-sales service parts support for Hyundai Motors, Kia Motors, and Genesis. In addition to the distribution of genuine service parts, the MPA Accessories division develops accessories for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis – which are installed on new vehicles in the United States and Canada.

Description

Mobis is a company of the Hyundai Motor Group responsible for the development, production, and distribution of Service Parts and Accessories for all Hyundai and Kia brand vehicles. Within North America and Mexico, Mobis Parts operates 17 distribution centers and associated transportation networks warehousing and shipping product to all Hyundai and Kia Dealerships within USA, Canada, and Mexico as well as all South/Central American Distributors. 

Under the leadership of the Vice President Supply Chain & Operations, the Head of IT Operations and Systems is responsible for overseeing IT infrastructure, hardware, and systems for 5 Hyundai Mobis affiliate companies operating 17 distribution centers in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Functional areas include Network Infrastructure, Asset/Hardware Management, Systems & Application Technical Specification / Support, Cyber Security, Global IT & Systems Integration, and Project Management. As a key leader within our IT organization, you will ensure that our network and systems are secure, efficient, and scalable, while driving best practices across affiliates and functions. 

This role utilizes a direct team of 4 managers to lead an organization of IT professionals (direct and contract), providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development to successfully manage the strategy, planning, and daily operations related to the IT & Systems departments. Strong partnership and collaboration with the head of the Systems & Application Development Department as well as business partners contributing to database structure, technical recommendations for system changes, system design support, integration with external vendors, and related activity will be key to success.

In addition to the technical and managerial aspects of the role the position is responsible for the administration and control of the organization. 

  • Development of annual operations budgets and financial control.
  • Management of vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, service level agreements (SLAs), and procurement.
  • Ensuring comprehensive documentation and adherence to processes and standards

This is a full-time position at our North America HQ, though occasional travel may be required to travel to satellite offices in U.S.A.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Infrastructure: 

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, and cloud environments.
  • Development, management, and execution of disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of IT infrastructure to support business operations.
  • Manage data center operations, server farms, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).

IT Asset Management: 

  • Oversee the lifecycle of IT assets, including hardware, software, and licensing.
  • Ensure proper inventory management and procurement of IT assets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with company policies.
  • Track and manage asset depreciation, disposal, and audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Cybersecurity: 

  • Oversee cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring systems, networks, and data are protected against external and internal threats.
  • Ensure appropriate coordination with Mobis HQ in Korea ensuring alignment to global security standards and policies
  • Coordinate the implementation of security policies, procedures, and standards for the organization.
  • Conduction of regular risk assessments, vulnerability testing, and security audits to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Management of the deployment and maintenance of firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and encryption technologies.

Systems Technical Specification:

  • Develop and execute strategies for system upgrades, enhancements, and future growth.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical specifications for all systems, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
  • Work closely with IT development team and business units to ensure system requirements align with operational and business goals.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all systems architecture, configurations, and technical specifications.

Systems Support:

  • Oversee IT system administration, including managing operating systems, databases, and enterprise applications to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Manage day-to-day IT systems support, including operating systems, databases, and enterprise applications.
  • Provide leadership for troubleshooting complex system issues and overseeing the timely resolution of technical problems.
  • Ensure systems are regularly maintained, including patch management, updates, and backups, in line with IT best practices.

Project Management:

  • Lead cross-functional teams in planning, implementing, and managing IT infrastructure and systems/application development projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Report on project status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the management of IT project documentation, including project plans, timelines, and status reports.

Financial Control: 

  • Annual Budget development for Capital and Expense
  • Ongoing cost control and management spending to forecast
  • Payment of vendors
  • Invoicing of Affiliates

WORK SCHEDULE

  • This is an exempt position and is expected to support business needs as required. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 8 hours per day.
  • A hybrid work arrangement may be available.
  • Weekend and after-hours support may be required for operational issues, project launches, or other business-critical initiatives.

TRAVEL

  • Minimal travel is required, including occasional visits to local warehouses.
  • Periodically, extended travel may be necessary based on business needs.

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).

EXPERIENCE

  • 15+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management and systems/application support with Cyber Security experience preferred.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure management, including cloud services, networking, data centers, server management, and network device management.
  • Hands-on experience with disaster recovery, business continuity, and system backups.
  • Managing system configurations, patching, updates, and performance tuning for different operating systems.
  • Experience with help desk support using a ticketing system such as JIRA to manage the resolution of application performance issues and ensure the smooth functioning of business-critical systems.
  • Troubleshooting Windows and Android operating systems
  • SAP enterprise application issues application support using cobol, Java, and SQL.
  • troubleshooting network connectivity issues (LAN, WAN, VPN).
  • SQL database connectivity issues, query performance issues, and support database migrations.
  • Proficiency in managing IT cyber security practices, firewalls, encryption, IDS/IPS, and compliance.
  • Experience managing user account support and systems access
  • EVPN troubleshooting, multi-factor authentication (MFA) setup, and user access control management.
  • Involvement in system integrations where different software or hardware components are brought together and tested.

Employment Type – Exempt

Compensation – Annual Salary , $118,853.61 – 175,903.34
