Short Description

Performs essential duties in the histology laboratory according to accepted practices.

Performs frozen section processing for Mohs micrographic surgery – Cuts tissue in ultra-thin sections modifying technique based on tissue type.

Performs routine, special and Immunohistochemical staining procedures.

Prepares tissue specimens for routine and special processing, selects correct protocol based on physician orders.

experience Required

One year laboratory experience preferred (Student experience acceptable.)

education Requirements

Associate’s degree and completion of an accredited histology technician or other applicable training program is preferred.

Training and experience in lieu of education is acceptable.

License/Certification Requirements

ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) Registry preferred.

Hourly Rate Min $26
Hourly Rate Max $44
