Position Summary
As a Project Management Support Intern, you will play an integral role in supporting the Project Support Team’s mission of enhancing project management practices across WWF-US. This post-graduate level internship is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in project management while assisting with high-impact organizational initiatives. You will work closely with the Project Management Lead to assist in the execution of priority projects and activities related to project management training, tool development, community building, and consultation.
Overview of the Project Support Team
The Project Support Team at WWF-US is responsible for driving project management excellence across the organization. The team’s key priority areas include:
- Development of Tools, Templates, and Resources: Creating and refining resources to streamline project management processes for staff.
- Building a Community of Practice: Fostering collaboration and continuous learning through events and knowledge sharing, strengthening project management practices across WWF.
- Consultation to the Organization: Providing tailored project management support and consultation to teams, helping them apply best practices to their specific projects.
The team works to build a strong project management culture, promoting improvement, collaboration, and learning from each other across the organization.
Responsibilities
The intern will have the opportunity to:
- Contribute to Tool and Template Development: Research and refine existing project management tools, templates, and resources to ensure alignment with current best practices, incorporating feedback from users.
- Assist with Building a Community of Practice: Help organize events such as speaker series, lunch and learns, and workshops to promote knowledge sharing and project management best practices. This includes event logistics, drafting communications, and facilitating small group discussions.
- Provide Project Management Consultation Support: Assist in answering staff questions related to Monday.com and project management frameworks. You may also attend meetings with project teams to observe and contribute to consultations on improving project workflows.
- Project Management Software Support and Engagement: Assist with troubleshooting tickets, building resources, and supporting trainings, while offering consultations to optimize project management software use. Help expand the resource library and collaborate with IT and software partners to creatively address FAQs, leveraging internal channels to proactively engage users and enhance tool adoption.
- Communications and Content Creation: Draft internal communications articles and updates to promote the Project Support Team’s tools, resources, and services, ensuring that staff are aware of new opportunities and offerings.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Current or post-graduate with a strong interest in project management or actively pursuing a project management certification or degree (e.g., PMP, CAPM).
- Excellent organizational and research skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote or hybrid work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with project management software (Monday.com preferred).
- Spanish speaking is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with WWF’s mission and a passion for conservation or nonprofit work.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this internship, the intern will:
- Gain hands-on experience in deploying and managing project management software (Monday.com) and associated training programs.
- Develop skills in event planning, facilitating knowledge-sharing activities, and community-building through the Project Management Community of Practice.
- Enhance their ability to create, refine, and implement project management tools and templates.
- Learn how to provide project management consultation support to teams, including troubleshooting tool usage and offering workflow recommendations.
- Build communication skills by drafting and managing internal communications for the Project Support Team.
- Gain proficiency in project management frameworks and best practices, including exposure to PMI standards and WWF’s internal project management methodologies.
