This position is contingent upon contract award. We are currently pursuing a proposal and are seeking qualified candidates to include in our submission and identify candidates for future hiring needs on the program once awarded.

As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Infrastructure & Platform Operations Engineer.
Introduction
As a SR Infrastructure Engineer, you will use cutting edge cloud and data technologies to help global brands and federal agencies solve challenging problems through innovative technology solutions. Work on exciting projects, future-proof your skills, and grow into your dream job alongside some of the most talented, knowledgeable, and dedicated technologists in the industry.
Responsibilities:

Design Infrastructure Architecture and Solution Application Architecture working with Platform Design & Engineering, InfoSec, CTOE, Enterprise Architecture, and Solution Architecture.

Deploy and manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters for containerized apps like the GenAI API with full DCE Platform 1.0 tooling parity and support for GPU workloads.

Extend current architecture to support regional disaster recovery and zonal high availability.

Implement a multi-region AI Landing Zone with failover using DNS and App Gateway.

Monitor infrastructure health and troubleshoot AKS, OpenAI, and database issues.

Integrate new technologies into the AILZ such as AI Foundry Agents, MCP servers, Document Intelligence, and Cosmos DB.- Automate AI Foundry deployment with private VNet injection, inbound NSG rules, EntraID groups for identity based access and documentation for team onboarding.

Mature AI Search promotion process with dedicated Search services per-team for R&D, an index creation pipeline and a data copy pipeline for chunks.

Resolve DNS, firewall and NSG connectivity issues for users, AKS workloads and Azure resources (Ex. Foundry Agent connections to Search indexes, AKS pod connections to Azure Storage, user connections to App Gateway)

Onboard new Machine Learning and GenAI teams by creating Terraform Cloud workspaces, Databricks Workspaces, AI Foundry Projects, Azure Search instances, AKS namespaces, Key Vaults, workload identities, Data Factories, Data Lakes and database servers as needed. Ex. Research teams looking to take advantage of Databricks.

Guide new workloads from experimentation to production deployment by evangelizing Enterprise Architecture archtypes, IaC best practices, zero-trust network security and robust data security

Outline center of excellence and support best practices

At AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member.
The targeted base salary range for this role is $138,000-$209,000 per year. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.
