Job Title: Interim Controller
Reports to: CFO
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Interim Controller to manage all key accounting and reporting functions within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction or engineering firms and demonstrate expertise in project accounting and financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all daily accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting practices.
- Manage the month-end close process, including invoicing and revenue accounting for all divisions.
- Supervise general ledger activities, including Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Unbilled Receivables, Travel & Expense (T&E) management, Depreciation and Amortization schedules, Debt, and various expense accruals.
- Review and approve all accounting transactions and maintain the general ledger and related records.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording, reconciliation, and disclosure of all required financial data.
- Coordinate and supervise daily revenue and expense operations, including Billing/Revenue, Payroll, and Accounts Payable.
- Review and approve all balance sheet reconciliations to maintain accuracy in financial reporting.
- Collaborate with the CFO to support strategic financial planning and decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, preferably in a construction or engineering firm.
- Strong project accounting knowledge and proficiency with accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
Compensation:
$75-80 per hour, commensurate with experience.
