Job Title: IT Manager (On-Site)

Location: Madison, WI (450 Science Drive)

Schedule: Full-time Monday – Friday On-call as needed

We are currently seeking a hands-on IT Manager to lead our infrastructure, support systems, and technical team on-site in Madison, WI. 

Job Summary:

As IT Manager, you’ll combine technical leadership with team performance management. You’ll oversee desktop support, ERP systems, infrastructure, and cybersecurity – while directly managing a team of IT support professionals. This position supports a 24/7/365 environment and requires a proactive leader with strong communication and problem-solving skills. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and hold accountable a team of Enterprise IT Service Desk Technicians.
• Maintain and support enterprise systems including:
  • Desktops, laptops, mobile devices.
  • ERP, CRM, and other core business applications.
  • Network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, routers).
• Administer cybersecurity tools and enforce security policies.
• Serve as the point of escalation for critical IT issues and drive root cause analysis.
• Manage hardware/software licensing and IT budget compliance.
• Develop and enforce IT policies, disaster recovery plans, and SLA tracking.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support business operations.
• Be available for emergency on-site response within 30 minutes when needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in enterprise IT operations, including 3+ years in a team leadership role.
• Strong hands-on experience with system admin, endpoint support, networking, and cybersecurity.
• Experience managing team performance, setting expectations, and handling attendance/performance issues.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, licensing management, and asset tracking.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be able to provide on-call support and respond on-site when required.
