Manager, Pharmacy Inpatient

As a Manager, Pharmacy Inpatient, you will provide development and management of inpatient pharmacy services to patients throughout the hospital. Works closely with the Outpatient Pharmacy Manager and Director of Pharmacy, nursing leadership and other hospital staff to provide the highest degree in pharmacy services to the hospital inpatients. Develops and maintains operations and all policies and procedures for inpatient pharmacy services. The Inpatient Pharmacy Manager is responsible for ensuring that the pharmacy department meets all legal, accreditation and certification requirements, and complies with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of the organization.

Work Schedule: 1.0 FTE, M-F Days. Occasional weekends, holidays, evenings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Pharm D from a ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Five-eight (5-8) years of health-system pharmacy experience.
  • Licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Minnesota
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required at Entry:
    • Knowledge of drug therapeutics, stability, sterility, compatibility and storage
    • Knowledge of basics of fiscal management of a hospital pharmacy operation
    • Knowledge of work schedule management
    • Knowledge of regulations affecting pharmaceutical services in hospitals.
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills
    • Skill in working with professional and non-professional employees
    • Skill in computers and their application
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required for Full Performance:
    • Knowledge of electronic health information systems
    • Skill with automated dispensing systems
    • Knowledge of policies and procedures of the hospital
    • Ability to develop goals/objectives for the department and hospital
    • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to obtain cooperation between pharmacy, nursing, medicine, surgery and other medical departments
    • Ability to interpret data and generate reports
    • Ability to supervise and direct the work of subordinates
    • Ability to cooperate with pharmacy initiatives spanning the health-system

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years in a supervisory pharmacist position preferred.
