Sewing Machine Operator

Location: Downtown- Terre Haute, IN 

Pay: $14.00

Shift: Mon-Fri 8a-430p; ask about flex schedule.

Job Description: 

This position is a Mantle Maker, you would work with fiberglass insulation (Training will be provided).

– Operate and maintain sewing machines, hand sewing and related equipment

– Fabricate and sew material according to specifications

– Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet standards

– Follow production schedules and meet deadlines

– Maintain a clean and organized work area

– Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes

Responsibilities: 

• Participate in the planning of work assignments to maximize throughput.
• Confer with supervision in establishing a training regimen to develop work skills
• Operate machinery/equipment required to fabricate parts and products to specifications.
• Operate powder coating equipment
• Use hand tools as required to fabricate parts to specifications.
• Clean machinery, tools, fixtures and work area as instructed.
• Fabricate crates and boxes as needed.
• Serve as backup for other positions when instructed.
• Responsible for reading and accurately interpreting prints, process sheets, and other instructions as required to produce parts that meet Company specifications and quality standards.
• Responsible for the accuracy and timely completion of all related paperwork
• Responsible for executing assigned tasks in a safe manner and according to company policy.
• Responsible and accountable for any and all tools and material issued to them and promptly reporting any damage to such.
• Responsible for compliance with company policies and rules, regular attendance and the efficient use of time and materials
• Participate in periodic formal and informal training sessions to maintain and/or improve work related skills.

Requirements: 

• Basic reading, math and writing skills
• Diploma/GED preferred
• Sewing experience is required
• Able to sit for up to 8 hours
• Ability to read and interpret patterns and instructions
• Attention to detail and quality control
• Strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of sewing machine operation and maintenance OR quilting experience
