Marketing Manager, Digital Catalogs – Performance Coatings Group

The Marketing Manager, Digital Catalogs position is responsible for leading a team responsible for building and maintaining customer catalogs intended to drive sales in support of the Performance Coatings Group’s (PCG) digital goals across various procurement systems and order management software. This position represents the Performance Coatings Group business segments and regions within the Sherwin-Williams eCommerce department – through management of customer specific product catalog data, enabling customers access to their PunchOut and Hosted Catalogs and streamlining customers’ e-procurement B2B purchasing processes with Sherwin-Williams. As PCG transforms our interconnected customer experience and digital capabilities, this role will collaborate across the Group, IT and business teams. 

Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised.   • Leads the digital catalog team’s efforts for the Performance Coatings Group and manages the daily workload for the team.
  • Focuses on the strategic development of the digital catalog team and works closely with the Enterprise, Strategic Accounts and segment sales team to prioritize channel partner needs.
  • Provide and maintain customer catalog data in S-W data management platform that supports all digital touch points, information and content planning, development/writing, compilation, verification and ongoing maintenance to ensure effective and up-to-date customer-facing experiences and capabilities that increase brand/product awareness, build customer loyalty and drive purchase process and opportunity.
  • Coordinate product data, information and content optimization and delivery approaches within all digital customer experiences, tools and applications to ensure availability of accurate and consistent information across customer touch points, devices and platforms to connect with customers whenever and wherever they choose.
  • Act as liaison across key product information contributors, users, or support teams (Marketing, Channel Partners and Business SMEs, Corporate and/or Stores IT functions, Customer Service, outside agencies and operations teams) to ensure accuracy and consistency as required to meet customer needs as well as project/business deadlines, goals and objectives.
  • Organizes meetings and coordinates system upgrades through collaboration with Sr. Manager, E-Business Digital Catalogs and Product Content and the technical development team.
  • Sets goals and objectives for digital catalog team direct reports.
  • Leads efforts on channel partner pricing and reviews catalog pricing for accuracy.
  • Assists with creation and maintenance of all customer digital product catalogs used across channel partner websites and channel partner specific catalogs including procurement system integrations (PunchOut) and distribution systems working with the E-Business Catalog, MDM and Site Operations teams, National/Strategic Accounts, Operations and IT teams to meet channel partner needs and business objectives.
  • Works with 3rd party procurement system providers to understand system requirements for loading data and the format needed to accomplish this objective.
  • Identifies needed enhancements within Stibo STEP, HCL Commerce and Adobe Experience Manager – to increase productivity and efficiencies and presents findings in detail to Sr. Manager.
  • Accurately maintains and updates catalog data and ensures price increases, channel partner requests and Sherwin-Williams internal products changes are current and timely.
  • Recommends, develops and/or enhances internal facing tools used by SMEs, Reps or Field Personnel to increase efficiency and enhance their abilities to focus on channel partner needs and sales opportunities.
  • Partners with Digital Merchandising team to ensure product portfolio and content are merchandised effectively to reflect in-store and online.
  • Work with Channel Partners, Marketing and Product Managers, segment marketing teams, and/or SMEs to gain consensus/definition around merchandising rules, product rotations, and cross sell and up sell opportunities/pairings/bundles. After, communicate requirements to product specialist team.
  • Gain consensus between business stakeholders, SMEs, Marketing, internal IT resources, and/or outside partners to ensure consistency in product information, promotions, and pricing across disparate product information repositories and systems and customer digital experiences.
  • Collaborates with the Content Vendor Portal team to drive Associated Product content online.
  • Works with Third Party providers to establish approval dates for catalog uploads and data accuracy for our channel partners.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation to ensure quality standards and practices are consistent and up-to-date and communicated across teams.
  • Collaborates with Product Marketing Content team to ensure product data/SKU’s, content and other requirements such as unique identifiers, pricing and other channel partner specifics are in place to ensure consistency and accuracy of the data across all channel partner outputs.
  • Troubleshoot issues within Stibo STEP / PunchOut and provide feedback to the E-Business Technical team to correct any errors that would cause channel partner delay in receiving new or updated catalogs.
  • Supports the implementation of new systems and platforms.

FORMAL EDUCATION: 

  1. Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in Marketing, MIS, or e-Business related fields.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  1. Required:
  • Minimum 4 years digital catalog development, e-Commerce and/or marketing experience are required.
  • Experience working with B2B procurement systems and software ie. Oracle, SAP Ariba, Coupa
  1. Preferred:
  • Stores sales knowledge and experience, along with point-of-sale (POS/AOM) and Price Record Card (PRC) pricing structure knowledge preferred.
  • Experience working with the National/Strategic Accounts Sales Organization and management is a plus/preferred.
  • Experience working with Performance Coatings divisions and products in a sales or marketing function is preferred.
  • Management of others

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Required:
  • Working knowledge of database technologies such as Microsoft 365 suite or enterprise systems.
  • Experience and knowledge of data management best practices.
  • Must be detail-oriented and capable of handling multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills along with a proven track record of collaboration with multiple internal and external partners.
  • Knowledge of software integrations, electronic interchange of procurement documents (cXML,EDI)
  1. Preferred:
  • Stibo/STEP knowledge is a plus/preferred.
  • Performance Coatings Group customer purchasing system knowledge is a plus/preferred.
  • Experience with Agile development methodology or SAFe principles are preferred.
