Our client, a leader in the engineering sector, is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their team. As a Mechanical Technician, you will be part of the engineering department supporting innovative projects. The ideal candidate will have creativity, strong communication skills, and analytical problem-solving abilities which will align successfully in the organization.

What’s the Job?

Prepare parts sketches and write work orders and purchase requests to be furnished by outside contractors.

Draft detail drawings or sketches for drafting room completion or to request parts fabrication by machine, sheet or wood shops.

Review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, and objectives, and test the nature of technical problems such as redesign.

Discuss changes in design, method of manufacture and assembly, and drafting techniques and procedures with staff and coordinate corrections.

Evaluate tool drawing designs by measuring drawing dimensions and comparing with original specifications for form and function using engineering skills.
What’s Needed?

Associate’s degree in engineering technology or related field required.

10+ years of experience in a mechanical technician role.

Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.

Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to the engineering field.

Ability to perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
